    Default Jarrah chopping board

hi, pics attached of a new jarrah chopping board for my wife.

The board measures 300 x 200 x 25mm, and has 35mm end covers on it, which are held with 6mm thick jarrah splines running the full width of the board.

There are finger grips routed into the ends for lifting the board, which is quite heavy.

The ends are glued with Titebond III because it is certified by the FDA in USA as safe to be in contact with food, and is waterproof for brief immersion.

All the tiny cracks and borer holes are filled with sawdust and this glue.

The board has been oiled with several coats of Ubeaut Foodsafe Plus pure mineral oil

That looks great - the jarrah is really suited to this application. I'll bet there's some weight in it.
I have just finished making a batch of end grain cutting boards, which include some jarrah, gidgee and whatever other hardwoods I can lay my hands on. Have made four cutting boards this way, and used the off-cuts for trivets and soap draining blocks. Love working with jarrah.
