Jarrah & huon pine jewellery chest
A few photos of a jewellery chest I've just completed for a client in Brisbane. Was able to get some really nice huon at the TWWS from Greg & Mal Ward. Had all sorts of fun with the jarrah moving in the extremely dry conditions while I was making it, but all came out well in the end.
Finished with Kunos oil.

As usual, beautiful work Alex. The figure in the drawers really stands out.

Alex, beautiful work as always. Superb.

Client has just collected it. He was pretty happy with it, and so was I.
It was one of the most enjoyable projects I've done. He flew down from Brisbane to talk to me about it after seeing my web site, and had a good idea of what he wanted functionally, but pretty much left the design to me after he'd decided on the timbers. Gave me plenty of time to do the job, and what suggestions he did make were sensible. He's getting married in December, and it will be a gift to his new wife. After she's decided what she wants, I'll be making trays for some of the drawers.
