beautiful work
Having made one of these many years ago perhaps from the same plan, I know what a challenge it is. I found the interior finishing with the foam and velvet more difficult than the woodwork. My piece had legs on it and was quite large and after giving it to my wife she thought it was too large and it went to my eldest daughter who had more space. My piece was black walnut with maple burl veneer in the lid. Nice piece ,well done! Wood Doc.

Awesome Chests Redgy, How do you find the Laguna, I am interested in these tablesaws as you seem to get a fair chunk of tablesaw for a good price, I have also looked at there Bandsaws as well and am very impressed. I think your Daughter and Wife will be blown away, once again top work, Cheers Richie Rich.

Thanks for the feedback guys
Wood doc...yep agree, I found the interior "craft" work challenging and not really enjoyable to be honest, but it's all part of it.
Richie.....very happy with the laguna so far, no problems to report. I've only just started a new project with it having spent the last few weekends re-making sleds, my taper jig, zero clearance inserts etc etc as the mitre slots are different from my old saw so no jigs fitted. Probably the thing that's annoying me a bit is having to zero the fence each time I put a dado set in it.....this is NOT a laguna problem, just the nature of left tilt saws. I have a wixey fence gauge on the way so that will save some time I hope.
Dust extraction is not 100% either....waaaay better than my old contractor saw of course but still have to clean out the bottom of the cabinet. I was looking at the Jet Extacta deluxe when shopping around and really liked the look of the dust extraction on it but not for the extra $700.
This probably in the wroing section now and hijacking my own thread but I too was looking at the bandsaw until I saw the 16" ledacraft, 3 HP and does all I want for about $1100. With the Laguna SUV I thought by the time I buy the rip king? blade and the fancy fence to get the most out of it, it would end up double that and I don't use one enough to warrant it.
Cheers
Redgy
