Default a job needed to be done

while turning the pillars for the clock on the little lathe I thought it needed portability and the needed bits (chucks etc) should be handy not in a cardboard box that kept getting full of shavings so I made this. Its redgum sides and top and the drawers are made of aust white cedar as are the sides and the drawer backs are cyprus pine and ply bottoms .....nope no hand cut dovetails . so its all Aussie to make up for the chinese lathe.
the centre drawer contains chucks etc the end ones 1 holds my penturning tools and the other has small containers of shellawax and EEE and sandpapers of various grits
Oh yeh I was supposed to rest

Good way to organize. I hear what you're saying about wanting to keep something from the homeland in the shop. Here in the US, we hardly produce anything anymore sadly. It's all from Asia, Mexico and Canada practically. In fact, you even have to check when buying an American flag to see where it's made.

Its the same down here, most if not all our 'aussie' souveniers come from China and other places over there.

chipboard?? when I find a decent size chipboard tree I will use some I reckon if we all stop using it they will reduce the chipping so Im doing my bit
Common timber here Brett its old dead wood on a friends farm that we slab when needed going by the sizes of the old logs at least a couple hundred years old before they fell over. Not all of it can be used on good stuff so the bench was handy to make
