    Default The Joy of Giving

    Hi,
Not sure where to put this but here seems right. No picture though.

Recently I posted "The box after the one before", which was a Bird's eye Huon Pine and flame Red Gum box.
A person who works with my wife and is from Ireland has had to resign and return to Ireland to care for her father who has Colorectal cancer. My wife wanted to give her something to remember Ausralia by and I suggested she could have this box. I just received a call from my wife to say that the girl was absolutely over the moon and has always loved Red Gum.
I makes me feel truly great to think that I created something that gives such pleasure and that I'm lucky enough to live in a land where such timbers exist. It also makes me feel really positive and grateful for the overall benefit provided by the exchange of knowledge available at these forums, at the touch of a mouse. I think everyone should feel proud that this small token of true Australian character is going to Ireland.
Enough sentimentality, I'll get out your way.

    Regards

    Rob

Flowboy, giving away stuff that you have made yourself gives a wonderful feeling. It's like having a wee in a wetsuit, it gives you a nice all over warm feeling but nobody else notices!
I have recently given away a box for a father's ashes, medallions for a sick lady to do sketches on, jewellery boxes for weddings ......
    Flowboy, we notice!
