    Default Kitchen Cupboards WIP

    G'day.
This is my 500th thread and to mark the occasion, I thought I may entertain some of you with a piccy or 2 of the kitchen in progress.
The breakfast island with a temporary varnished MDF top until all completed for a new yet to be decided top (possibly the reconstituted granite). The kitchen was sectioned off by a wall about 1200mm high. Knocked it down last weekend and installed the cabs. Thank goodness for adjustable feet. High to low point in that section is about 8mm. The cabinets were constructed of 19mm plywood for sturdiness. A bit of over engineering I think. Face frames are used and to fit the doors the blum hinges with face frame mounting plates were used. This unit includes a corner unit with a lazy susan. The corner unit at other end of kitchen will incorporate the "WARICORNER" swing pullout. The drawers all have Blum blumotion runners undermounted. I started out by refacing some existing cabinets. The upper cabs came out just fine. The lower one that I did I am not happy with and will redo completely. The reason is that it does not have the kick space.
Here is the first of the piccys.

Congrats Les! The kitchen cabinets look fantastic. I think 19mm plywood makes a good, sturdy frame for the cabinets.

    cheers
