Knife block
Here is my first attempt at a knife block. Fairly pleased with the end result. Its Tassie Oak that I finished with Organoil hard burnishing oil. I must say i purchased the oil a while ago and just prior to finishing i jumped on here and looked at all the past threads on organoil. I was concerned whether to even try to use the product after what I have read, but after a couple of attempts on some scrap I had less concern. Maybe it comes down to the advise I was given by the guy who sold me the oil. Use the instructions off the website, not off the back of the can.....Or maybe i just haven't got any other expectations yet. given that the only other timber pieces i have ever finished have been with estapol type products...
It s not getting away from it all it s getting back to it all!

Very Nice Wayne, it's got a nice sheen to it.
I made a Tassie Oak box for my Dad and finished it in Organoil. Dad loves it and it looks wonderful. I think Tassie Oak takes Organoil really well.
