Hi, my brother in law saw what I did with some other knives and he told me my niece had a special wish. She wanted a Swiss army knife that is wood, not the normal red. She wants a corkscrew, big blade, small blade, cross and flat screwdrivers, and a can opener. Very specific.

I had an old Victorinox one with all of that except the phillips screw driver.

So he commissioned me to do that and I had some leftover spotted gum and used that to replace the plastic scales. Turned out well.

But I couldn't stop there and decided to also make a box with some New Guinea Rosewood and Chinese Elm. Good practise for cutting dovetails.

I based the design roughly on a treasure chest.

I felt the knife will be a bit lonely in there, so I also practised some carving and made a couple of wooden pendants from different small scrap pieces. Thought she might like them, be creative making jewlery and/or share with her friends.

The rest of the box then got filled with sweets and is now on it's way to the Fatherland. Hope she likes it [emoji4]
