My Tool Cabinet
I thought I'd have a go at putting photos of my tool cabinet on here. It is made of Maple and finished with three coats of Danish Oil.

Very nice job. Looks like you'll have many happy years of use.
The tools look most pleased.

Well done. The tools certainly look satisfied. But what happens when they start to multiply and have little ones? And where are the non-tailed tools?
The play of light on the maple mitres give an interesting optical illusion in the first photo. I was looking at the doors for a while trying to work out whether they were large raised panels, or were recessed.
Quality work.

Mate, I reckon it looks really good. Reckon that it could be converted to make a nce wine cabinet as well.

If he gets it without working for it; he's a parasite; and if he accumulates it after a life time of hard work, people call him a fool who never got anything out of life."

Thanks guys - appreciate the comments. Yeah the light does cause a bit of an illusion there but the doors are flat. It is far too heavy to be mounted on the wall, and I designed it so that I could put my other tool chest on top of it anyway. That one is made of jarrah and has five drawers. You can see the corner of it in one of the photos. Most of my other tools are in that, or hanging on the walls.

Couldn't you have made a matching cabinet for the jarrah one, or make a new tool chest out of the maple and send me the jarrah one
Serously, any photos of the Jarrah tool chest? Did you make it? Enough of the Plane , time for some Storage photo's, the unsung hero's of the shed!
Apologies for waffling on, I am on serious meds for my feral sinus'Pat

I would have loved to have made it out of Jarrah. I made the five drawer chest when I was living in Perth a couple of years ago (I miss Perth ) where jarrah was nice and cheap. Now I'm in Canberra and it's a bit harder to get so I went with maple instead. Here is a photo of the jarrah chest.
