Krenov inspired Cabinets
About 14 years ago, just after I started wood working for therapeutic reasons, I met a guy known here as Lignum. He introduced me to a designer named Krenov and after looking at the images, I fell in love with Krenov's work. Here are two cabinets I made following his style of creating pieces of Art.
They are both of similar height, depth and width. The taller cabinet is made from timber I can't remember, though I think the carcass is Eastern Mahogany. They both stand about 2 metres. The second cabinet is much smaller and was designed as a home for Single Malt Scotch Whisky. The body is Southern Mahogany and the panels are made from two book matched pieces of Silky Oak.
Thanks for looking.

That's very nice work. I like Krenov's style, it always looks so effortless and simple.
Sadly, Lignin (Jim Scorer) passed away a couple of years ago. A few of us attended his wake, held at his local bush fire brigade, where stories as large as he was were told. His collection of politically incorrect T shirts was on display.

Thank you Alex,
Krenov really is a master.
Just a point, the guy I was talking about was Lignum. He's now somewhere in Ballarat, hopefully producing the beautiful stuff he used to make down here.
