Default lacewood and maple quilt rack

I designed and built this quit rack for my cousin a few years ago. I looked for design inspiration on the net and looked at many different designs. I found little inspiration from commercial designs and had a vision of what I wanted. I came up with this somewhat unusual curved frame and panel design. The frame is joined with mortice and loose tenon and the panel is curly maple milled to 1/4”.

    I'm drooling!!!!

Is it curved in 2 dimensions or just the one? How is the curly maple seated?

    Cheers

Thanks wendy, The curved frames are flat. The panel floats in a 1/4" groove to allow for wood movement.

    That looks very special.

I made one for a friend a few years ago. I searched magazines and the net but couldn't find much variation. They were all pretty much the same.

My effort wasn't much of an improvement. I just added an inlay to the ends.

You would expect there would be some designs about that are a similar quality to the quilts that take ages to make.

Anyone would be pleased to have their quilts on your rack.
