    Default My little workshop

Thought it was time to share my few square metres of therapy space. SWMBO still won't give up her side of the garage. Was able to sneak the work bench across to her side though. As you can see, no more room for any new toys.

Looks like a very well stocked toy box to me (I'm green with envy). And if the bench is on SWMBO's side, then the cupboard on the wall must be too, and you must be standing on SWMBO's side when you're using the TS.

Is that orange bandsaw a sherwood? If so, how do you find it? (I think either a bandsaw or a drill press will be my next machine.)
Those are my principles, and if you don't like them . . . well, I have others.

Zenwood, you are correct. The wall unit is on SWMBO's side and I do operate the table saw from that side. I consider it expansion by stealth.

The bandsaw is a Sherwood - BAS350, and it does all that I ask of it. Yesterday I picked up a 2TPI blade from Henry Bros for resawing. Tried it out today on a piece of myrtle about 150mm wide, and it was like a hot knife through butter.

Very nice BobR. BTW Henry Bros have a 19 mm x 1.25 TPI blade available for the BAS-350. It is absolmelutely fandamtastic for resawing logs with the BAS-350's 205 mm depth of cut. I think that a BAS-350 and one of those blades is a must have for every woodturner, unless one has a 16" or bigger with 300 mm depth of cut. Seems like you need a lathe and you'll be able to fit a Delta midi lathe in there quite easily!

    Nice little workshop Bob!

Hey gatiep the bigger BAS's like mine(470/18") only can cut upto 285mm. And what is that in your avatar, been trying to work it out for a while now?

    Nice workshop Bob.

I see a big steel girder I'm sure you could attach a shelf to (to the bottom flange) for more storage. That rear brick wall could hold some more shelves for more tools too .

    Cheers

Thanks to all who are trying to get me to spend up more to fill what little space I have left. Will have to wait at least 12 months until the next WWS.
