Different,
Maybe Lignum needs a little sanding down to remove a few rough edges & maybe I am not the one to say so, having my own rough edges, But I do think old Lig has a vaid point. When you posted the thread, you did receive a fair bit of "sorry to hear that" & "you poor bugger" style of replies. You also had a lot of people offering ideas & moral support in an effort to see you NOT give up, but rather find another way. Making cutting boards may not stimulate your creative mind, in fact it's probably degrading to a man with your talent. But the cold hard fact is, you can make them out of off cuts & sell them for ten bucks each and that is called business.
Reading through the entire thread, which I have done several times, I would have thought you may have been at least a little inspired by what some of these people have offered, but you seem to find a way of rejecting all help.
I'm sure it would be nice to go back to the good old days, but in the good old days, you would not have received inspiration from all over the country & possibly the world for that matter. It's no good wishing for time gone mate, even the present don't last long before it becomes history.
I don't mind if you want to tell me I'm wrong too, or tear me a new one. But before you do, please, for your own sake, go back & read the entire thread again.
TickyThe fact remains, that 97% of all statistics are made up, yet 87% of the population think they are real.

I have read the whole thread and some good sugestions were made but I have tried most of the things I could and others are just so not me!
As I said the other day the business is working it just does not pay my personal expenses/debt etc.
