    Default Maple side board

This was also made in 2010 for a client

Hard Maple sideboard..the case is joined with hand cut dovetails
the rest is mortice and tenon. The curved doors were a bit of a headache, got there in the end.. The doors are hanging on Hafele soft close hinges.
The door and drawer handles are made from maple, and through mortice and tenoned, with ebony wedges. The feet got the same treatment.

    Underused
That is one beatuiful side board and certainly gives me the inspiration to try and achieve that class of furniture making one day.

Beautiful piece and great workmanship Underused.

Goes to show what can be done with the lighter coloured timbers. To me the very simple geometric lines complement the timber perfectly.

    Thanks!

I did this one in 2009, the bottom is similar to the maple sideboard
This is Black Cherry, there were a lot of dovetails to cut on this one..

The drawer handle that acts as a runner too, is from the great James Krenov RIP
