    Talking My Latest

Just got hold of a digital camera and thought I'd take a few snaps of my latest work.

This first on is a stool I made from Tassie Oak and Danish Oiled.

This is a wine cabinet-table I made from the Triton Times design. Pine and Tassie Oak with Danish Oil Finish.

This is the latest thing I have finished. The carcase is pine with the face, doors and drawers in jarrah. Finished with Triton Oil. The tv is on a lazy susan.

    Thumbs up

    Gazaly, nice work.

I particularly like the TV cabinet. Where did you get the design for this?

Why did you use pine for the carcass?

How did you construct the lazy susan?

The door style and rails look like a through mortise and tenon. What/why is the lighter coloured tenon showing through at each of the four joints? Just curious about the detail.

Cheers guys. To answer your questions DPB:

    1. The design is my own, made to suit my gear in the family room.

    2. I used pine for the carcase due to cost restrictions; jarrah is just so expensive!

    3. The lazy susan is a bought one from Bunnies - $25.

    4. The doors are open mortice/bridle joints. The lighter wood is an insert of pine. My first atempt at doing this to try a create a bit of character!

    Cheers
