    Default Tasmanian WWW Show Competition

I will be progressively attaching photos from the competition items entered in the Timber Communities Australia "Tasmanian Treasures" wooodworking competition held in conjunction with the Tasmanian Timber & Working with Wood Show currently on at the Derwent Entertainment Centre in Hobart.

Apologies for the quality of the photos. I will load each post under the competition category and the place order. I will take the rest tomorrow and post tomorrow evening.

I would encourage everyone that can, to take the opportunity to attend.

G'day Kev. Sorry I didn't get back for a chat today. I got side-tracked and spent lots of money. Then had to leave early to deal with an emergency at Opossum Bay.
Will be back Sunday to look at a table saw of some kind. My Triton stuff is going on the market.
    Cheers
    Mike

PS: said g'day to Neil and spent some money with him.

    Default Furniture Category

First Prize a demi-lune table in Huon Pine

The photo does not do justice to the bookmatched bookmatched huon veneers so here's another shot of the top.

Second Place again in huon pine a pie crust tripod table.

Third place a minature blackwood drawer unit with the drawer internals made from huon pine.

    Sheddy,
I didn't have much of a chance to talk today anyway as I seemed to be tearing around like a blue assed fly, I'll get in for a couple of hours tomorrow but not Sunday as both my boys are competing this weekend in the Tasmanian Athletics Championships and they come first.

More photos to come tomorrow night.

The good news is that we are hoping to move into a new home before the next meeting but contracts are still in draft form. If it all comes together we will have a permanent home at Cosgrove High with our own dedicated space, access to the machine shop and 24x7 access. Yaah hoo.

I've now reattached the photos, strange thing was I could view them all the time in my message on my screen.

    It is quality work.

I have all the makers names as I was one of the organisers but without their approval I would be reluctant to publish names.

Tommorrow night's photos will show the solitary non-Tasmanian entrant.

Some beautiful work, the standard is high you can see why the demi-lune won.

Wow! The amount of work in the demi-lune table is amazing, but that pie-crust table is an absolute stunner! Comparing 'em, it's hard to believe they're both Huon Pine, eh?

    Thanks for the pix, Kev.
