Good looking bowls but try that nut cracker on a good old Aussie Macadamian Nut and I reckon you would need a bigger wheel to get a bit more purchase on, or the nut would come flying out and knock your eye out.

It slices it dices it even cracks nuts!
For macadamia's I use a BONK (Barts Original Nut Kracker) - really effective and easy to make you own.
My parents got me a GMC lathe for Christmas (still in box as I have not bought tools yet or the chuck head), So I am going to have a go at turning as well soon.______________________________________________

Hello,
First of all thanks for the compliments.
@junkboy: I got the nutcracker from Craft Supplies, England. It's available from several woodturning suppliers in Europe, but I think it comes from somewhere in the far east.
@Barry White: you're most likely right about the macadamias, but on the other hand, we don't come across them very often over here in Germany.I got some some 15 years ago and I got my sledgehammer out to crack them.
But it does a good job on hazel- and walnuts, which are most common over here.
@TTIT: it is actually the natural colour of padouk when freshly cut. But it changes fairly quickly to a dark brown if not treated with a UV protection.Best wishes
