Octagonal Display cabinet
Hi All,
This is my latest project, it is a cabinet made from Aussie Oak, it was quite a challenge to make, each side has one matching side only, and 4 sides are planned to a compund angle.
This is a nice project and has been a god one for me to start the year off with, i am thinking of using some Gill stephensons wax which i picked up from the hardware, has anyone used this before, and what did you think of it?
Anyway like before, please see the pre-finished version bellow.

Hey, Stinger!
Nice work. Your pictures leave me with more questions than answers. The unusual angles make it hard to visualise how this cabinet works and were it would be used. Can you give us more information behind the design?

Hi DPB, yeah sure, i will take some more photos which show the different sizing.
It is to have glass shelving inside, which you cab then use as a display cabinet, i will finish it off and give to Mum for Christmas, so she can put her crystal ornaments into.
basically, the top and bottom are 120 x 250mm, 2 sides are 80 x 250mm, and 2joining sides go from 120-80mm and the other 2 80-120mm. The for odd sides, areplaned to a compund mitred edge, meaning on the outside face they have 2 angles, one 90 deg, and the other 45 degree, this allows the side to start flush and also finish flush, i will take more photos which will show the details i tried to explain, boy i think i am confused now!
