My first photo
Hi all,
I,ve been thinking about putting some pictures on the forum but each time I look into it I get way too confused.
But I think/hope I have stumbled onto the right procedure, so what follows could be anything, so here goes. The time we enjoy wasting is not wasted time.

Nice clamp
Is this just a test photo, or is there more to the story?

Very interesting, 3ts, and thanks. Now that you have worked out how to do it, would you give us more pics, please, showing us how the job proceeds?
It is years since I laminated Melamine edges and want to know the practice now.

Sorry, I just got that picture on when the boss reminded me we had to go out and its time I got my head out of that %#@$* computer.
I've just got back ;thanks for those replies, and yes it is a nice clamp although the photo is actually of the drawer.
yes there is a bit more to the story, about 5 or more years ago we rennovated the bathroom and I threw in a temporary vanity set-up.....and now that I've had plenty of time to think about it I've started the new vanity.
Here are some more pics. The time we enjoy wasting is not wasted time.

Oops, sorry old farmer, I didnt take pics of the edging process. It is the first time I've done it.
I trolled the forum and dived in. I cut a strip a bit longer than needed and ran a hot iron over the strip on the edge. Edging is a bit wider than the board thickness so you're left with a couple of mil.over hang all round. Edgeband material is quite brittle and it was easy to trim off excess edging strip with a half round file. The time we enjoy wasting is not wasted time.

Aaahhh, these bosses! Thanks for the pics, 3ts, and the reply.
Yes, we ironed them on and used an half-round so I am on the correct track.
Wish my eyes and back were still as good, though!

Sorry John, do you mean because there's no (real) wood? Or do you mean you can't actually see any sawdust?
I'm a bit slow at this time.......actually its not just at this time. The time we enjoy wasting is not wasted time.

heres a few more progress pics. These are the drawer fronts construction. I was going to make the fronts out of timber but SWMBO said she wanted the fronts painted so I went with MDF. Saves a few dollars too.
Firstly I cut the MDF into little pieces.
Then I got to christen my new CMT kitchen door router set..great fun.
I made up a set of three drawer fronts in one assembly, then cut them apart on the TS.The time we enjoy wasting is not wasted time.

Yes, you're right Mun., not a spec anywhere, I hadn't even thought about it.
There are a couple of explainations I can think of.
The first thing is I'm a novice. This means I tend to do a job in very small steps, followed by a lot of thinking/pondering etc. So the small step doesn't make much sawdust, and while I consider the next step I might wander around with dustpan & broom so I feel like I'm still doing something.
The second thing (now brace yourself as this is pretty shocking) is I share the shed with SWMBO.
Yes, the missus does mosaics etc and runs a small class once a week so I try to keep the dust under control for that. The time we enjoy wasting is not wasted time.
