Default some more photos of projects in progress

    Ok,

Termite got to show off his "works in progress", so heres mine

photo 1 is 2 priceless herilooms, you can see the baltic pine blanet box with dovetailed or boxjointed joints. on top of the blanky box sits a lovely hand sanded (down to 2400grit) cedar document box for junior apeboys birth certificate. perhaps there'll be leftovers for some gifkins type boxes after my box making course at mittagong in january.

photo 2 is a hand made and sold at auction on ebay chiffoneer for $8000 made from some reclaimed cypress pine taken from my neighbour after he cut it down. next to it sits my life savings of offcut pine from which I make chopping boards and push sticks etc.

photo 3 is very expensive offcuts of sheaok in a bin that I'll make marking guages and mallets from to sell at the local markets for $50 a pop.

Impressed ? Thought you would be... I know I am...

    You idiot

(I should pay you back with the appropriate colour but I'll think about it for a while first )
If at first you don't succeed, give something else a go. Life is far too short to waste time trying.

Only if it has trolls living under it.

    Zed .

There are some nice trees surrounding the woodwork centre at Mittagong, you should really feel at home.

i was driving thru my hometown today and they were cutting down some suburban tree for some reason,... lovely timber. the tree was a yellow boxwood, no borers, no rot or anything. I asked if they would slabb it for me and they said "nah, too many nails in trees like this, we use it for firewood" I was surprised!... he then pointed to a black stain in the timber and said "look at this, nail rust discolourisation" what a waste... wheres the connection to mittagong ? the forests around there are covered in yellow boxwood.... I think i'll try to nab some from the local mill while im there!

    another heirloom in the making!
