Very Nice Box . Is the top a veneer on silver ash or have you put the silver ash into a rebate . Looks like you used a lock mitre bit - did you calculate the bit tilt required to produce the slope required for your box or was it a trial and see. I recently wanted to make an octagonal cone to cover a bird feeder with a base of 800mm and I had a frustrating time trying to calculate the tilt for that . The maths was pretty rusty .

Thanks Peter.
The top has a silver ash lipping on jarrah. It's not a lock mitre, just an ordinary mitre cut on the table saw. the outside was shaped roughly on the TS, then planed smooth before cutting the sides to length. The slot for the bottom silver ash insert was cut on the TS after the box was assembled. The handle was laminated from 3 strips of jarrah.

If you bought bulk jarrah it would probably be cheaper, but small sections are hard to come by in Sydney. The problem is, not all Bunnies have them, and you have to do a lot of sorting to get ones that aren't full of gum veins.
This piece was one I put aside from another job I was doing because of its figure.
Thanks for the kind words, all.
