    I make the tangs as thick as possible. For the ones shown the tangs are slightly over 3/8". This gives me lots shoulder for the ferrules to butt up to with out the worry of them collapsing from heavy mallet blows. The tangs are also not hardened. This way if someone were to try and pry something apart with one of them it would bend long before it would break. I've got enough tool steel left over to make another set of bevel edge chisels. So this time I'll take pictures and write out the process and post it up here. Then ya can make yer own.

    I am totally envious of the range of skills, the design thoughts and the beauty of the product. Wish I was till living in Portland OR, I'd come and bushwack you for some samples!!!
