I recently looked in the archives for repairing veneer, I think it was posted about 2000, when I went into it, the pictures would not come up, all that was there was a little white box with a cross in it, I was unable to open it, can anyone help me with this, or is it that the pictures have dissapeared into the huge system.

They were most likely hosted by the original poster on another personal site.
The board is basically storing a link to another site where the image is hosted. If the image was moved or deleted then this board is looking for something that is no longer there and replaces it by the cross.
