Plane Setting Hammer
No, I'm not really planning on making a career out of making things to hit stuff with, but...
Inspired by the wooden plane setting hammers Terry Gordon sells, I made this today:
The handle is around 30cm long, from jarrah. The head is gidgee - wonderful stuff, hard and heavy, does the trick. The faces are slightly convex. Didn't think I really needed to worry too much about the head coming off - setting a wooden plane shouldn't really give the joint a hard time - so I just glued the round tenon, no wedge or anything.

Handle is 280mm long, head is 90 x 45 x 30mm. I'm going to build a smaller version tomorrow I think.
I'm a looooong way from a guru - just an anal SOB who spends way too much time on his hobbyThe Australian Woodworkers Database - over 3,500 Aussie Woods listed: http://www.aussiewoods.info/
