Thanks for the link. I hadn't seen that page before, but I am familiar with the style of board. Somebody, & it might even be the woodwisperer has even written software to calculate the timber required & the pattern it generates.

I have downloaded the free software, but there is some issues with it and 64bit vista. I'll have a play with it at some stage.

Sadly, this thread was not well received on the forum. I was hoping for some different patterns & styles. Maybe people think a simple cutting board is not that exciting, but I enjoy building one every now & then.

Anyway, thanks for the link.

Heres one I made from Incra plans Timbers are Jarra and Huon Pine

I presume you cut the widths on a bandsaw?

I cut the strips with a table saw using the Incra ultralite jig but you could do it just as well using only the rip fence on the table saw.

Steve, not really a cutting board, but I'm currently in the process of making a cheese board / serving platter. Filled holes with resin.

I made the Wood Whisperer bread board, and being end grain it ended up looking like a fruit bowl!
if cupped that badly.

Simon, That looks great. I like doing cheese boards as well, but Iv'e never really finished one. I've started 3, but they well all snapped up before I was really finished with them. I have a few bits of nice timber set aside for another go at some stage.
