Lightbulb Project 1 - Entry Way Table

    G'day all,

Well here goes - this is my first project. We had a space in the entry way of the house and I wanted to have something that would neatly fit the area and would compliment some of the chinese/asian feel we have created in parts of the house to give some synergy. Anyway I made this table out of pine. The colour is English Mahogany and a few clear coats over the lot.

PS I also made the sword stand to match
    Cheers,
    Darren (aka Felix)

    Scott,

The Swords are generally thought to be Japanese, however they have origins in China. I do chinese martial arts and these weapons are the real thing - not copies.

I have it from 2 sources - 1. My martial arts master and 2 from some chinese history i have at home. Anyway i am happy to be wrong. Basically i like both most asian furniture and architecture and have incorporated some of this feel into my home. Project 3 is some Shoji Doors that i am just finishing - pictures forthcoming

yes the one on the left is for Tai Chi the others i have seen demonstrated but don't know much about them - the original Katana was straight (Ninjutsu still use a straight style of katana) alot of the japanese styles and weapons have been origins in china, however they have had many changes over 100's of years.

Anyway this is only based on information i have - happy to speak to you more about this if you like, but lets do it via email or pm as i am sure there are alot of guy's that have no interest in this stuff and i only wanted to display my project here
    Cheers,

    Angry

Signed a petition last week pleading with the Govt to stop their bill to ban swords. They are on the verge of banning all swords. Great for martial arts. Not too got for the Scottish sword dance and heaven knows what the RSL and others are going to do.

    Unbelievable.

I think you will be able to keep you single chop swords, its the multi chop swords there going to ban.
You will have to attend some training, so you know all the saftey aspects of sword handleing too......
Next on the list is, knives, toe nail clippers, realy pointy shoes and those realy nasty looks that people give you.........

    Cheers, Al
