Red Cedar Coffee Tables
Hi All,
I'm new to this forum so I thought I'd show everyone some of my red cedar tables. I'm also after any ideas on how I can sell them without having to go through galleries, hopefully something online.
Cheers,
Adrian

mate those tables look fantastic. Nice work.
I regards to selling them, although online maybe easier, I reckon to get top dollar for them you'd need to see them "in person".
Galleries etc might be good but what about local craft market type things? I don't know if they are any good (maybe people here have some experience in that area) just a thought how to the tables in front of quite a few people.
They look spectacular and I reckon the'd sell better offline.
Which ever way you go - good luck
Cheers,

I had to come back for a second look, ok, drool!
They are outstanding coffee tables!
For selling - Word of Mouth, hold a display at your work (if possible) and see what nibbles you get

Very nice tables Yattah Most woodwork sold online goes way too cheaply bringing down the value of other woodies work with it. As the others said - best to go for a market or furniture/homewares outlet.
Have you thought about randomising the sawn side of your slabs so they look like a natural edge all the way round? Just an idea

Nice, I like how you do the edge treatment, natural edged but smooth and flowing... elegant!

Hi Adrian
Nice tables! How did you attach the legs? It doesn't look like there is an apron underneath.
Cheers

Great work there Yattah.
Welcome to the Forum. As far as selling, No clue, I'm stuck here in Kansas and people here have no clue here what real furniture looks like.JunkBoy999

Adrian welcome to the forum.
Man I like those tables, the shapes and rich tone. It looks like you have filled some of the smaller holes with resin, am I correct?
Great work

Haven’t thought about randomizing the sawn edges before, mainly because all the timber I have has come from dead trees, so there's always a minimum of sapwood. I just use the natural edges I’m given!!

Yep, I do use resin to fill the smaller holes, the larger ones I of course leave clean to make that natural look. The legs are glued and dowled, because the cedar is so soft the glue sticks and just won't let go, and gives a nice seemless effect!
