    Default Finished Celtic Knot Blanket Box made out of pallets

    I have pretty much finished making my blanket box today. The photo looks a little glossy as the varnish is still wet....but I used sating so it should be quite matte.
    I want to try and re-align the lid as its overhanging one side more than the other....it still won't be a perfect fit as I really didn't take time to measure anything except for the sides of the box initially....everything else was done by eye or just by leaning the wood against something and making a rough mark. But I think thats what I like about the box, its imperfect charm and roughness
    I am thinking of lining it with designs I have done that are Celtic Knot inspired, then decoupaging it all on.

    How good is that !!!! Celtic knots are my favourite form of decoration, and you have totally nailed it! Well done, this is incredible workmanship

    Hi spoonman have you considered using small posts attached to either the lid or carcass they need to be tapered to avoid binding but it is important that the final point of contact is square to close the lid in alignment. The posts can be 10mm by 10mm so as not to intrusive to the eye
