Krunchy,
I don't think I shall be giving away a chair as a door prize any time soon; or did you mean that you are getting a router to use with your door prize?

I had to wrestle with my inner Scot to give away a morticing jig; he would have vetoed a chair give-away outright Maybe I could raffle one, if I could get a hundred members to pay $5 a ticket, but that seems like a long shot.

Crazy price for a genuine Rietveld
Just to show that genuine Rietvelds command crazy prices, take a look at what this 1950 model sold for: http://cgi.liveauctions.ebay.com/ws/...ayphotohosting
I am hoping my niece will be able to command a similar price for my version in 2050

Interesting suggestion; I might have a dabble with the idea, if, as usually happens, my internet connection goes down during the Christmas break.
Arty,
My chair was designed to be reminiscent of Rietveld's, but to be used as a regular dining chair. It is too comfortable to be art.

I really like the way the grain on the back rails shows matching curves on each, it shows great attention to detail and makes a big difference to the overall look of the piece.

Rocker, im assuming the sale David Jones is having is nation wide. If you have their cattledog that would be in your paper today, have a look as they have a Z-Desk. Crappy workmanship but it could be a goodun for you to make as a partner for your chair

Lignum,
Thanks; but I haven't been able to find anything about a David Jones sale or their catalogue in the Courier Mail or online. I will have to find out if any rellie wants a Z-desk before I commit to making one. But hey, why don't you have a go?

I might even give that some serious thought. You know the worst thing about doing this for a living is you never get to make what you want to make (thats why i love mucking around with joins as its quick fun) so i should put aside some time each day and have a go - Maybe a Z-Roll top
