Hi Pete
I came across this thread quite recently and was wondering how you got on with your rocker.
I started a similar project in November 2005 which I work until May 2006 when I had to shelve it due to moving house, building a new workshop and building an extension to my new property.
But now the time is looming when I shall be able to rekindle my interest in my horses.
One of the things I hope to do is to create the harness and loose saddles, which I need to reserch any body out there that knows of any book titles that would point me in the right direction would be much appreciated.
Regards Dave.

Hello, i hope you dont mind me butting in, but i saw the question about rocking horse equipment ( saddles and bridles) and wanted to tell you about a great site in uk that do real miniture lifelike saddles and bridles. They are called TOYTACK. I purchased a saddle and bridle from them and it was real saddlery quality as you would expect with saddlery for real horses! I dont see why they could not send to australia, i dont think it would cost much more than from anywhere else in uk.
If you type in toytack uk, there site should come up on your server.Best wishes from an english lass!

If you type in toytack uk,
Hi *rockinghorse* apprentice
I found their site and true enough & their saddles are quite elegant. But I would like to build my own from scratch, I have however found a book on the web called Making a Saddle which appears to be a free down load I have found it to be very informative.
From your handle I assume that you have started to make a rocker how are you getting on with it.
Making a Saddle
Regards Dave

Wongo, you built this with no experience? Wow, that is very impressive. Keep up the good work.

Sorry about that. But still building something like that with little experience is very impressive.

Thanks Johno for the compliment.
I still can't believe I did it with very few tools and vert limited skills. When I bought my first carving gouge, I asked the bloke to show me how hold it correctly.
