What a fascinating invention !!! Wouldn't mind one myself as it would make copying artwork, & designs so much easier, also heaps cheaper than a CNC Router set-up, and without doubt more fun to use.

Wonder if it could be adapted to also fit a Dremel, or any other type of power-carving tool, then with the appropriate cutter fitted one could do all kinds of miniature routered designs, pictures, signs, etc.

I design and make heaps of wooden House Name Boards for people, and am always seeking new ideas, or concepts to maximum the use of both my Router, & Dremel, without resorting to something expensive and up-market such as a CNC machine.

I am thinking of making this myself, the plans are only about $12 or so from memory.

The designer recomends using good quality Birch Ply, which is a bit hard to get in Adelaide, but I cant see why a bit of marine ply would'nt be just as good.

The fact remains, that 97% of all statistics are made up, yet 87% of the population think they are real.

Birch ply has a lot more, thinner pliers for the same thickness, and there is less variation in ply thickness than with usual plywood. It is used for wooden aircraft so is not feeble or inconsistant material. Rumor has it that the Woolies "Masters" harware stores stock it, but I haved been accross town to our first one to confirm this.

I was cutting some sample logos into marine ply today as a proof of concept and the major issue from the customers perspective was grain variation in the recess due to thick and inconsistent plies in the layup of the sheet.
