    Smile Saturday in the shed

Spent most of today in the shed. Finished off the Myrtle Burl, started on a Myrtle, Huon Pine and Rosewood Box for my Mother's Birthday present.

    Lacking panel clamps, I improvised

Pat, Know what you mean- I have always found a good pilsener to be a good substitute for panel clamps too !!

Default Saturday in the Shed Pt 2

The rest of the day was spent trying to find a method in the madness of the bench area

Haven't seen anything like that clamp up since I last watched a game of Twister

If he gets it without working for it; he's a parasite; and if he accumulates it after a life time of hard work, people call him a fool who never got anything out of life."

    Smile The Sunday followup

    Sunday, Bloody Sunday.
Memo to self: Huon Pine is not a hard wood! If you apply to much pressure to a thin piece, it will be crushed!

So the day started, a quick swearing session and then cut another piece from the block, clean it up, cut the pins and fit it.
Sand the base (The Improvised panel clamp clampee), glue the box to the base then attack with Minwax Wipe on Poly. How easy is this stuff to use? Almost Pat proof!
Thanks to the Plastic man for the suggestion. Bunnies Wallygong have two types: Gloss and Satin, with half a dozen tins of both.

(Gumbo, tried to give you a greenie, but alas I must spread the love around!)

Ha Ha Ha, I mowed last Tuesday and the blessed grass has grown 4" in 5 days    So after I do my time in the salt mine tommorrow, I shall be playing with my "best" friends Mr WhipperSnipper and Mr Mower

MBGitW always says that if I can stop the dust forming in the house, she'll stop the grass growing!

(Can you tell that I would rather be fluffing/tinkering/messing around in my shed?)
