    Default secret box drawer

    When I made a tansu a few years ago I made this secret document drawer.
    The character on the front is my daughter's name.
    The chest will end up being hers one day.
    The wood is keyaki with a cherry top.

    Well that's it now the secret is out . Should read chest with publicly advertised drawers

    Looks good and love the characters on the front (daughters name)

    What finish did you use?

    Hand cut dovetails?

    Default spray poly

    The finish is a generic spray polyurethane.
    Outa the can. Into the gun and spray.
    I don't know how to do dovetails any other way than by hand.
    I have more time than money, so no router or jig.
    Here are some pics of where the drawer goes.
    The first pic is the SECRET (don't tell anyone!) drawer in front of the bottom drawer of the chest
    The bottom drawer is removed and the hidden drawer slides to the back and then to the right behind the smaller drawers. The smaller drawers are about 60 mm shallower than the others and the hidden box fits into the void space.
