Silky Oak Box for nick nacks
Hi Everyone, Just thought I'd show off a box I finished today!
It's a small box about 300x280x180D made of Silky Oak.
Finished in 30% AC.
The dovetails were my first that I used absolutely no marking out except the depth of course with a making guage. Just guessed and it couldn't have turned out better- I had my doubts; But I would only do it this way from now on.
Sorry about the size of the pics I can't work out how to put down thumbnails out of an album from my profile..
Whatddya think?

Yes, I like it. very well done. It has a certain Oriental look about it, nice work.
Reality is no background music.

Thanks Alex It's always nice to hear compliments from someone who does such nice work. The extended drawer sides are how my Dad taught me. He was doing it that way in Germany 50 years ago when he started cabinetmaking. It's particularly useful on larger ad wider drawers I find.
I didn't plan it that way, and I didn't really notice until you said, but you're right Munruben!
Thanks for everyone's kind words
Much appreciated
