Default Silky Oak and Jarrah box

    This box is 320 x240x400mm.
The handle is Macassar Ebony and the base is Fijian Kauri.
It is finished in Scandinavian Oil and Trad wax
Friction sealing was done using a Festool RO150 in orbital mode up to 400g then a Festool ETS150 eccentric sander from 400g to 4000g.
The lid still needs to be attached.

    Regards,

    Rob

Looking nice. Would suggest using a plane to flatten the top of the box and the lid, so you get an even reveal between the box and the lid.

Nice box. Good combination of timbers.

I was quite taken with this box, what a beautiful selection of timbers. Well done Rob.

Are the jarrah and the silky oak on the sides just edge joined and glued?

The lid is very interesting. Can you give us some insights on how you made this lid, please Rob?
    regards,

Nice work, Rob. Those timbers go well together, and they've come up a treat.
