Default Simple sushi mould (or is it mold)

A simple thing. A sushi mould I made - just meant to be a prototype but one of those prototypes that works so well it gets to stay.

Basically, you put part B inside part A, fill it with sushi goodies, press down with part C, put part C aside, turn it upside down and press the contents out onto a board. Slide a sheet of nori up to the edge, roll it up.

Part B just stops the sushi sticking to the mould (part A). Part A has thumb holes in the bottom so you can press on part B through the bottom.

Part D is just a paddle thing so you can rearrange the filling. Not much use really.

Takes 4 tablespoons of cooked sushi rice first, then your filling, then 4 more tablespoons of rice on top.

Each roll is equivalent to 3 of the typical sushi takeaway rolls - so I slice into 3.

Tidied up, it could be a good sideline thing for someone who sells at markets. Maybe make a kit, so you include instructions, some sushi rice, slices of nori, tube of wasabi, bit of kewpie dressing etc - enough to get people started.

Works very well, if you don't mind square sushi. If it must be round then I guess you could make the inner faces of Part B and C concave on a 40mm radius

    cheers

Like the idea. Making me hungry just thinking about it but I also think it might be that I did not have breakfast.
