Soldering Irons
A couple of years ago I started an obsession. These are only a couple that I have (about 250 of the bludy things now in variuos states of restoration?). I polish the irons and shafts, then add a turned brigalow handle (one in the photos is gidgee and the other is bulloak) Mick told me in one of the threads quite some time ago about a product called 'incralac'. I spray this onto the irons once I've finished polishing to stop the brass etc tarnishing again, although it does take a little bit of the shine off them.

I never try and get my ambitions and capabilities mixed up, but a few cold beers, on a hot day, and well, you all know what happens next!

You polish your what?
Bruce I've seen a fair few soldering irons, but I have never seen one polished like that. Certainly have never seen a whole herd (the collective noun for soldering irons escapes me) polished like that.
You know I might just buy the next soldering iron that I see in the second hand shop. Don't think it will be as loved as yours but it'll have a nice home.Specializing in O positive timber stains
