A stick of wood with some resin on it
Hi All
As part of working through e.macs timber I had this offcut. Looked nice and I didn't know what to do with it, so I put it on the side of the shed. Zen thought it might make a nice feature on a box anyway started thinking and read up a little here about resin fillers. So a bottle of biotech later this is what I came up with.
If anyone knows what the timber is please let me know I would love to know.

Natural features like that are difficult to deal with but can be worth the effort.

Studley,
I reckon it looks very much like Messmate. I encountered exactly the same in some reclaimed timber I was using for a coffee table. It makes for a good talking point or feature when filled properly with epoxy resin .
