New to Me Table Saw
Finally have the table saw that I bought from a member here, JK_Qld, back in October up and running. Still a few things to complete including a more permanent dust extraction setup and an outfeed table, but at least I can now use the saw to get some jobs done. Very happy with my purchase, it's a big improvement on the old rattler. Thanks Joel, you were a pleasure to deal with.

Spot on Fuzzie, it's a hybrid, a Carbatec branded MJ2325 as you've suggested. But, with the soft start motor, the much larger table surface area, the extra weight and much smoother operation the comparison with the previous contractor saw is chalk and cheese. I've also done a little modification, which sees it able to take a 12" blade on the rare occasion. A cabinet saw would have been nice, but at this stage I'm very pleased. The saw came with the Incra fence, having had one previously on the contractor saw I wouldn't have been happy to take a backward step in that area.

To use a 12" blade the only changes necessary are to remove the riving knife and its clamping plate (not the whole mechanism so you don't lose the adjusted position - just bolt it back on when finished with the 12" blade), and one of the cap head machine screws that holds the dust extraction blade guard in place needed to be replaced with one with a lower profile head. A 12" blade is only used very occassionally, but when it's needed it's mighty handy to have the option.

Glad you're enjoying the saw David, also good to see it survived the trip.
