    Ah Niki, you should know that they are Temple Dogs. One is called Chi and the other Wa, which is Chinese and Japanese for the same thing, broadly speaking
    "Life Force" or "Soul".

    I saw them in many Japanese temples but never asked what they are doing there.
    At least now I know.
    Chi is also Blood if I remember, isn't it.

    Not to confuse you mate, those are my names for them, their main purpose is to be guardians of a temple, usually Buddhist.
