Thicknesser Dust Chute
Here's one last thing for show and tell.
I had my BIL make this up to fit my HAFCO thicknesser. I could have bought one to fit but where's the fun in that?
What you can't see is the curved ramp that he put inside which arcs from the left hand corner nearest the thicknesser to the right hand corner beyond the 4" spigot. This was his idea to allow for a smoother air flow and hopefully less chance of blockage when working with wide timber.
The interesting thing is how it changes the sound of the thicknesser. It's working like the body of an accoustic instrument and it resonates on a particular frequency so there's a distinctive tone. It now sounds like a very loud 2 stroke lawn mower!
Maybe it'll fool the neighbours."I don't practice what I preach because I'm not the kind of person I'm preaching to."

So Silent, it would seem that we have more than a bandsaw in common. Thats the very thicknesser I've got and I love it. Properly leveled tables = no snipe. By the way, your old man's nickname isn't Barney is it? If so we go back a long way.
Kind regards

Yes, it's a beauty for the price. Gets a good workout at my place.
My old man's nickname isn't repeatable in public but he does a bit of work for a guy his age nicknamed Barney. Do you know someone down this way?"I don't practice what I preach because I'm not the kind of person I'm preaching to."
