Well Woody it came up as a thumbnail. A bit different to the Snow in Australia thread.

    Default thumbnail

The reason for the thumbnail success is that I used an older software program paint shop pro 7, (paint shop pro 8 won't give me a thumbnail when posting, I shall be getting on to their helpline shortly)

Sorry to disappoint you but I'm still getting a blank area where the thumbnails should be.

I dont think it is any thing to do with the program that you are using, as says in the other thread it could be something to do with the server.

Because a JPEG picture is a picture, a picture, a picture whatever way you look at it.

Gooday, have you enabled pictures in the CP:

You have the option to show or hide various elements of messages, which may be of use to users on slow internet connections, or who want to remove extraneous clutter from posts.
    Show Signatures
    Show Avatars
Show Images (including attached images and images in [IMG] code)

There has been no change to the server settings and all settings are correct in the main board settings.

I myself paste the picture onto the desktop and work from there, not out of any photo programs.

    Maybe this is the problem.

    See how it goes.

    Greg,

The mitre gauge is a Kreg, and is excellent. It was formerly called FasTTrak.
    See this thread:

Maybe Vasco can tell you who now ships them overseas, now that the makers no longer do so.

    Default Very Strange

There is an item in CP "attachments" and at the bottom of the attachment index there is an option to click show attachments or hide attachments.

However, using PSP8 over the last few months has meant that thumbnails do not display. I put up a photo with PSP7 yesterday and did not make any setting changes but got the thumbnail picture.
There have been changes recently to the jpeg format and my PSP8 software has now got 3 jpeg options. Perhaps this is where the problem lies or perhaps compression settings are different between to two programs.

    Default thumbnail picture solved

If you save the picture with high compression (jpeg options) the thumbnail now opens with PSP8 as well.
So is the thumbnail mystery now solved
