    Default Toy car

I am a bit hesitant to post such a simple project as this, when others have been putting up pictures of their masterpieces. But Christmas is not that far off, so I made this car for a nephew.

I cheated by buying the 1 1/2" wheels ready-made with realistic tyres from Lee Valley for only US $0.27 each. The axles are 1/4" threaded rod, and the wheel bearings are the sleeves from cheap shelf supports hammered into the holes in the wheels.

If you have a bandsaw and a drill press, this is a simple toy to make. The design is from "Making Heirloom Toys".

The kid will love it because it was made just for him by "Uncle Rocker", and I'll bet that gives you more satisfaction than any other project you've done.

Christmas is getting closer and there are kids out there that will not get a toy. There are organizations that will distribute toys to them, Simple toys can be made from your cut=offs & scraps. I buy the wheels ang paint them a bright color
