    Default Toy crane

    Hi Folks
Found this plan for a toy crane. I quite like it and thought I'd share the link

    http://www.shopsmithhandson.com/arch...nd_project.htm

Maple and Mahogany may be overkill for a toy, but I thought it was great use for offcuts! The mahogany was from a warped old headboard! There is enough left to make about 20 cranes. Well, I might make one or two more anyway.

Thanks for sharing, Richard - I saved the link.
You did a great job of it.

    Cheers,

    Jill

P.S. Hope you had a good play with it, too - I would!!

    Hi Jill

thanks for your comments. Yes, must say, I have used it to lift up some of my son's toy cars while no-one was looking. It is for a nephew - the Mk 2 is for my son's birthday.

I have found it quite hard to find good plans for toys and this plan spells it out in detail. Sadly, my home-made designs never look quite right!
    Cheers from NZ

There's something magical about mechanical wooden toys. Love it.
Those are my principles, and if you don't like them . . . well, I have others.

Yes, I think there is something special about wooden toys. There must be tons of plans out there for some of the old mechanical wooden toys of yesteryear, but I haven't managed to find many!

    Thanks for the replies.
    Cheers from NZ
