    Default Veteran's Memorial Case

Lost my Dad 2 months ago and because he was a WWII veteran he had a military honor guard during the burial service. After the funeral, Mom mentioned that Dad had saved a pieces of Walnut for a special project that he never got to. I was able to get some walnut from the crotch of a tree and made a Memorial Case for Dad's burial flag along with some military momentos. I was able to use Dad's special wood for the backsplash of the case, so it has alittle more meaning to mom. Here's how it turned out:

Here's the special piece Dad had put away

Brass feet and hinges, I was able to get a polished brass plaque engraved with Dad's name along with dob and dod. The back is a 1/4" foam board covered in red velvet. I think it came out pretty good and Mom has everything in it she wants. One thing left is the stripes Mom had were not the last ones that Dad had before he got out of the Army.

Thanks for looking, hope you like it.

    Paul
