Looking good Waldo. Nice bit of timber that and nice bit of joinery too.

Thanks SilentC. I'm busting to start the Maloof finish, but a little bit of patience first. The joinery was made so much simpler with the Domino and panel raising bits in the router.
About all that's left on the cabinet, apart from already mentioned is to get my head around proper on the 6th leg so the cabinet doesn't sag - aside from some other things that will be a Thursday/Friday thing.

To save me dropping down to see it, can you bring it when I organise a Woodworking Weekend up here?

Yeah, no worries. It magically folds into a backpack and reduces in weight by about 100 kg or so.

You'll be wishing it did when it comes time to get it out of your shed...

Today the cabinet was righted onto its feet. So that must mean I'm getting closer to being finished. A bit closer anyway
One of the things that has made things easier is jigs. I've got jigs made of MDF lying around everywhere. 6 of those are jigs to cut the three stages of cutting the mortices for the 1/2 mortice locks. A set of jigs for the left and right 1/2 mortise lock.
There's been a fair investment in the brass cabinetry hardware which has come from Graeme Brown Antiques on Malvern Rd, Toorack. http://www.gbrownantiques.com.au/
The next day or so will see me routing out the doors for the locks, hinges, concealed ball catches etc.

Thanks Al B.
Unfortunately there have been visits by the Stuff-up Fairies, thankfully some were easily fixed, others couldn't and I have to live with.
No shots of todays work as I only got about 30 minutes in as SWMBO had gastro. I was able to start fine tuning the one of the doors to fit snuggly with the trusty low angle bevel-up smoother from LV.
Hoping for a better day tomorrow.

Al B and Dj,
She's better now, her sister is here today to help out. Cook? Only burnt offerings to the BBQ gods.
