"Wavey" to bowl
Well at long last I've tried afew different touches to my turning.
Wavey Topped Bowl
This was done with a trimmer type router. Very simple but a start. About 180mm diamerter x 120mm deep (approx).
Scolloped and textured Mango Bowl
Used the trimmer again and textured with a wire brush. A friend suggested I paint the sides silver, the bottom green and put a VB logo on it so it would be an oversized bottle top.

I am impressed by the bowls. I don't know a thing about turning, but I reckon you have done well.
Great pics too, these on your new D100?"Looking west with the land behind me as the sun tracks down to the sea, I have my bearings" Tim Winton

Yes paul, I took these with the D100. I've read a report on the less expensive Nikon D70. From what was written that camera's digital capabilites/quality outperforms the D100 BUT it has a composite body shell - not metal. The D100 is streets ahead of the old Kodak DCS330 I had before.
I've stared to do a bit if simple carving on some bowls and forms, I'm rapidly becoming a "sander" with amount of time I'm spending applying a finnish to the pieces. I hope the carving's worth the effort. If you don't see any pics you'll know.
