My weatherboard garage I just built
This is my shed I have just completed. I learnt a lot about building.
I consider myself pretty handy, metal being my specialty. It was a challenge in a lot of spots, and it is not perfect, but I have finally finished
The only external help was the excavator to dig foundations, brother in-law to screed top of concrete slab, builder to do frame, and electrician to do fusebox wiring and sign off.

I love the feel of a wooden shed. Just has a more 'warm' and inviting aura about it somehow. I bet it is good to finish it and stand back and think to yourself ..... Ok so that is the first bit of fun over with, now for the fitout!!!
Can you give some dimensions and costs? If this is not too personal. Thanks
Nice job well done.
Pete
Is it peter sm for smith? Because I am.....If you are never in over your head how do you know how tall you are?

G/day Peter,The shed came up great, good job.Did it cost out pretty well?Have you lined the inside yet?A couple of mates of mine put similiar sized sheds up for their own pursuits and now are flat out getting into them. One in particuliar has his kids mates camping in his all the time(probably a silly move putting air conditioning, kitchen sink, fridge tv etc in)Should be a terrific thing to have in your yard.I had 3 sheds in my last house (where I lived for almost 20 years)and now I have to do my bits and pieces in half of the double garage and under the pergola.(putting a shed up soon)Good luck.Regards Terry

Great looking shed Peter.
Very nice style, a vast improvement on a tinny

yeah, like the others said...Great workshop!
With all these big sheds going up, I am suffering shed envy and a good case of FOMOI know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.

It is 13 x 7 metres. 2.7 wall height, and 22.5 degree roof pitch and 450mm eave overhang. No plans on lining it as it is solely a work garage. I have water connected and will be putting an old second hand laundry tub as a wash basin.
Have 4 cars, two motorbikes, BBQ fridge, workbench, numerous other items. I am a panel beater and two of the cars are not mine, just working on them.
The biggest costs were the excavation, steel reo, concrete mix, concrete pump & boom. 18 cubic metres of concrete there. The slab cost about $7000ish
The long side not shown is on the fenceline and clad with colourbond.
The timber was $4000ish
Trusses were $1320
Builder to knock up frame cost $2200
The corrugated roofing, gutters and flashing was $2000ish
I got the door second hand close to new with remote for $400
Windows cost $180 second hand
Paint was $500ish
Electrical from main fusebox was a big job as the power from the street to the house had to be upgraded, new main meterbox and board fitted to house, everything had to be replaced to current standards, and sub box fitted to garage. That was $2000ish, plus about $500 on actual garage wiring lighting fitout.
I have 12 double flouro's, 10 double power points and 4 x 15A power points for welder and compressor.
So about $20k and total build time 6 months. I was quoted $45k by a builder, so didn't do too bad.
