Almost forgot, they are made of Cyprus and currently no coat on them at the moment. Still undecided what to coat with yet

    Nice work, they look comfy
A Danish Oil might do the trick or straight poly if they need a bit of weather protection
Those were the droids I was looking for.

Nice work. I made a few (9 all together) a few years ago and I still enjoy sitting in them.

Great stuff TP, they look comfy and set off the porch nicely. I made a Cyprus fence and coated with with 50% turps and 50% linseed. Protected nicely.

Mine have a few extra bits of wood to yours - I have a pang of design efficiency envy.

I used either wattle or cabots outdoor furniture oil - I figured the proper stuff would have less chance of rubbing off on your clothes, etc. The wattle gave a nice clear coat but is out of production afaik, and the cabots was not a clear coat, quite translucent, and I wasn't so keen on it.

How did you get thin wide cyprus planks? I went chunky, because it was either 21x90mm decking, or 38mm rafter wood.

I've run out of relatives within delivering distance, so I've gone out of production for the moment.

    Thanks for the kind words

Poit I cant see your pic, maybe it didnt work mate?

I bought my cypress in 140x40 in 6m lengths.
I traced my patterns onto a piece, cut them out and sanded edges, then split in half on the bandsaw so they both matched.

The cypress was specifically cut for a builder who never picked them up, so his loss was my gain as i got the lengths cheap!

I bought new cypress, and it was still half the price and a better wood for the job than most other options. Don't know what went wrong with my pic. Picture in your mind a very handsome and sturdy looking Adirondack chair, in cypress, sitting on a finely manicured lawn.

For a rank beginner, OK carvings. There's better wood for carving, instead of the back of a chair.
OOOPS! You made those? OK chairs, too. Good place to sit and carve.
