White Cedar Corner Unit
Hi all,
A recent commission. Got a load of white cedar bark to bark and used half of it for this project. (Remainder being used at moment for next commission)
As you can see fairly standard design, but the timber does the talking and it's a functional piece.
I was able to select which pieces went where as in the draw fronts because they are the most visible.
Top draw is a slide out shelf (solid cedar) and bottom 2 drawers are made for dvd's. The draw sides and backs are all solid cedar with the bottoms being masonite.
The whole unit is on castors for ease of moving and cleaning.
The timber came from one tree possibly two. Image 7, there are 3 of those untouched..too nice to cut. May just hang one in the shed as a keepsake.
Don't you love image 1?
cheers

WOW! Great job. I love the figure in that wood.
Beautiful work conwood. You'll have to get a nice plasma TV for it now!___________________________________________________________

Thanks gentlemen. For the price of a plasma I can get more tools. Already got three normal tv's and they are fine- one in the shed of course.

I saw some pieces at the Wood Show in Canberra today like number 7 and thought "What would you do with that? It's too nice to cut up". Then I thought I should save it, add a nice natral oil and hang it on the wall as is. Beautiful piece of timber. Beautiful pice of work too.

Grand Effort
Love it when a plan comes together. Thanks for sharing your pics. This unit is exactly the type of product I'm cutting and storing wood for - may my retirement come soon. Enjoy your craft. Brosh
